From Nine to Five #2

Lately, I have attended an outstanding event organized by the Rotary District 2451 new generations committee. Held at American International School West campus, around your life from 9 to 5. In a series of 3 articles (check the first one here), I will discuss my takeouts. We will be waiting for your next meet-up. This event was a nice mix among the generations: Interactors with Rotaractor with Rotarians.

Tarek Michel & Hisham El Bakry have discussed how to find your path in life. How to know your purpose in life? How to stay passionate?

The first idea discussed was "beginning with the end in mind" while planning for the future as well. And you have to live by the below to reach your purpose:

1. Passion: something you love and great at it.

2. Mission: something you love and the world needs it.

3. Vocation: something the world needs and you can get paid doing it.

4. Profession: something you are great at and you get paid doing it.

The second idea discussed was "choosing the values you need to live by" as no one can live without values. Your values can be anything and below are my top 10:

1. Loyalty

2. Commitment

3. Open-mindness

4. Compassion

5. Positivity

6. Passion

7. Respect

8. Courage

9. Service to others

10. Environmentalism

The third idea discussed was "asking people from your support system" to discover your talents. The best thing to do to know yourself better is to ask your support system "how do they see you?".

The fourth idea discussed was the "new science of personal success", where we have discussed the habits that may limit your career path and you have to take care of:

1. Disorganization

2. Prioritization

3. Procrastination

4. Anger management

The fifth idea discussed was "how to change your mindset" through:

1. Personal motivation

2. Resist temptations

The sixth idea discussed was to understand the 6 influences around us, so we can resist the temptations. If we are blind with the below 6 influences we can't change anything, however we do know it and understand it we can start changing.

1. Free samples

2. Bad example

3. Negative perspective

4. Marketing

5. Tracking expenses

6. Cashless environment

Now, it is time to start implementing the above ideas in your real life.
